AIDEX

AIDEX BRUSSELS

AidEx is a two-day event, which encompasses a conference, exhibition, meeting areas, awards, networking, and workshops. Its fundamental aim is to engage the sector at every level and provide a forum for humanitarian aid professionals to meet, source, supply and learn. AidEx was created to help the international aid community engage the private sector in a neutral setting, drive innovation and support the ever-growing need for emergency aid and development programs.

Each year over 2,500 representatives of the humanitarian aid community from over 65 countries attend an AidEx event. Attendees come from UN Agencies, the EU, Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, local and international NGOs, the government and the private sector.

Today, Brussels Expo hosts a hundred or so events every year and welcomes some 2 million visitors. In recent years, the Brussels Expo Group has also diversified its activities to embrace Entertainment, a turning point marked by the transformation of Hall 12 into a sophisticated concert hall and show venue. Since then, Brussels Expo has also been entrusted with the management of La Madeleine, in the city center.

Brussels Expo is also at the heart of the NEO project, which sets out to overhaul the Heysel plateau. The district can, in fact, look forward to a promising future over the next 10 years, through the construction of a new district (750 new housing units are on the cards), with new economic functions such as a shopping center (200 shops are planned) a new leisure offering (amusement parks), public parks and the construction of an international convention center.
