AVCon 2026: Adelaide's Anime and Gaming Festival

AVCon is Adelaide's not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-run celebration of anime, video games, tabletop gaming, cosplay and Japanese pop culture, running since 2002. The 2026 edition — themed "Rhythm ☆ Revolution" — takes place July 3-5, 2026 at the Adelaide Showground (Jubilee and Goyder Pavilions), Goodwood Road, Wayville SA 5034.

Show hours

• Friday July 3: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (badge pickup, Opening Ceremony and Quiz Night)
• Saturday July 4: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Sunday July 5: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

What's on

• Gaming — arcade games, video game free play, retro gaming zone, console tournaments with prize pools up to $350, board game and trading card game free play, one-shot role-playing games, and the Elder Dragon Summit (MTG Commander weekend)
• Anime, panels & guests — guest panels and appearances, live performances, screenings, workshops, the AVCon Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Quiz Night and AVCon Auction
• Cosplay — cosplay corner, AVCon Cosplay Competition and the International Cosplay League
• Show floor — AVCon Artist Alley, Starfall Market (exhibitors), Indie Games Room, InkTaku Alley, Community Quarter, StreamCast Studio, Itasha Showcase, Sprite's Kids Zone and the Ichigo Ke-Ki Maid Cafe
• Competitions — fan art, fan fiction, manga, cosplay prop, AMV, short video and Gunpla build competitions
