Annual Corporate & Regulatory Update (ACRU)

The 27th Annual Corporate & Regulatory Update (ACRU 2026), HKCGI's signature governance conference, was held on Friday, 12 June 2026, 8:55am-5:20pm, in hybrid mode at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), it attracted over 2,500 delegates - governance professionals, directors and senior management from across the region.

Six government authorities and regulators delivered regulatory updates (in order of appearance):

• Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) - post-listing compliance, enforcement updates, financial statement disclosures and USM reforms.
• Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) - Uncertificated Securities Market implementation and sponsors' conduct.
• Companies Registry (CR) - service updates of the Companies Registry.
• Security Bureau (SB) - board-level must-knows on IT security governance under the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Computer Systems) Ordinance.
• Inland Revenue Department (IRD) - company re-domiciliation regime and deduction of capital expenditure on intellectual property.
• Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) - the new compliance imperative: corporate liability laws reshaping global business integrity.

Co-sponsors include the AFRC, Companies Registry, Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, HKEX, IRD and SFC. ECPD points are awarded; the programme is aimed at governance professionals, directors including INEDs, senior management and officers, and lawyers and accountants.
