About the event

The 14th annual Archaeology Roadshow celebrates Oregon archaeology and heritage with exhibits and hands-on activities hosted by archaeologists and heritage specialists from universities, tribes, federal and state agencies, companies, and nonprofits. The Dalles stop is the 4th Roadshow in that city, held in the River Gallery of the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum.

Visitors may bring up to three personal objects (for example stone tools, pottery, or animal bones) for expert interpretation. No financial appraisals are given. Experts also discuss stewardship, ethics, and legal aspects of artifact collecting.
