Big Ears is a four-day celebration of musical and artistic adventure and discovery, transforming downtown Knoxville into an immersive playground for the senses. Over 38,000 attendees experience nearly 250 performances, films, conversations, literary events, and art installations across more than 20 diverse venues, including historic theaters, churches, intimate clubs, and art galleries.
Founded in 2009, Big Ears presents iconic artists and bold new voices spanning contemporary classical, jazz, experimental, rock, folk, ambient, and beyond. A festival pass (wristband) grants access to advertised performances across the walkable downtown footprint, with separately ticketed reserved-seat concerts available for select shows.
Getting there
McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) is about 20 minutes from downtown. Knoxville sits at the crossroads of I-40 and I-75.
