British Flair with Country Fair at Gut Basthorst

British Flair mit Country Fair is a family leisure event held annually at Gut Basthorst, a historic estate near Hamburg. The 2026 edition takes place 4–6 September 2026 (Fri–Sun) at Gutsverwaltung Basthorst, Auf dem Gut 3, 21493 Basthorst, Germany.

Blending a lifestyle trade fair with a British event, sport and culture programme, the event offers English-style furniture, accessories and home decor, elegant fashion, outdoor & country clothing, shoes, hats and bags, silver and antiques, classic cars, single malt whiskies, British souvenirs and specialities, and items for dogs.

• Scottish army & sutler camp with Clan MacHarbard
• Jack Russell Terrier races and falconry shows
• Scottish & Irish dance performances and wellie throwing
• British classic car show
• Slapstick with "Bridie the Tea Lady" and Paddington Bear
• Equestrian Day (Tag des Reitsports) on Sunday, with horses and ponies presented together with the Tewdwr pony stud
• British Flair Open Air Proms Concert on Saturday evening (5 September) at 19:30, performed by The Hamburg Festival Orchestra under Russell N. Harris — bring a picnic blanket

Food & drink

Fish & chips, pies, Highland Cattle burgers, pasties, freshly baked scones with clotted cream, fudge, Pimm's, British cider, beers and draught Guinness, English tea, and Nyetimber sparkling wines from Sussex.

Charity

Under the patronage of the Friends of Britain association, proceeds from the charity tombola and other activities support a good cause — in 2026 benefiting the "wellengang hamburg" project.

• The site has uneven terrain and historic cobblestones — only partially suitable for visitors with limited mobility (free entry with a valid disability pass)
