Cape Town International Animation Festival

The Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF) is Africa's largest dedicated animation festival, celebrating the art of animation and connecting professionals, enthusiasts and industry leaders from around the world. In 2026 CTIAF was collocated with Comic Con Cape Town, running 30 April - 3 May 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC 2), Foreshore, Cape Town. The programme featured daily screenings of African animated titles and hands-on workshops (storyboards, comic art, pixel art, character design, 3D game worlds) presented with The Animation School and SAE Institute South Africa for ages 12-18, plus industry talks. CTIAF has been held annually/biennially in Cape Town since 2011 and remains the continent's flagship animation event. Next edition dates to be announced.
