Carpentry Expo

Carpentry Expo is Australia's only dedicated trade show for the carpentry industry, backed by Carpentry Australia, the national body for Australian carpenters. It is organised by Prime Creative Media, Australasia's largest B2B publishing and events company (379 Docklands Drive, Docklands VIC 3008; +61 3 9690 8766).

Last held edition

• Dates: 17-18 September 2025 (Wednesday-Thursday), 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily
• Venue: Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf VIC 3006, Australia
• Co-located with: No-Dig Down Under and Converge Expo 2025 - the three shows shared the MCEC floor as a combined construction and infrastructure gathering

What the show covers

Aimed at Australia's ~139,900 working carpenters (a A$13.9bn services market), the expo combines an exhibition floor of tools, materials and solutions with:

• Live demonstrations - joinery, woodworking methods and new tool technology shown on the floor by leading tool suppliers
• Educational workshops - hands-on sessions on precision measuring, advanced joinery techniques and innovative materials
• Professional development / conference programme - sessions on business and contract skills, mental health in trades, apprenticeships and skills gaps, licensing, safety and supervision, plus closing remarks from Carpentry Australia
• Networking and industry awards - the event also hosts networking opportunities alongside industry award presentations

2025 edition sponsors and partners included Milwaukee Tool (platinum), ITW Construction, Hammer Asset Finance, 48 Tools, Selleys Liquid Nails and Stabila; speakers included AFL identities Kevin Sheedy AO and Alex Rance.

Next edition

No 2026 or 2027 dates have been published for Carpentry Expo, and the official site still presents the 2025 edition. The organiser's co-located trade shows are returning to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on a biennial cycle - Converge Expo is dated 15-16 September 2027 at MCEC - so the next Carpentry Expo is expected to be announced alongside that run. Dates above are the last held edition; nothing has been inferred.
