Education Journal Club | Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation

The Education Journal Club is run by the Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation (CTEI) at Johns Hopkins University. Started in Spring 2023 and inspired by JHU Biology faculty who ran a similar club pre-pandemic, it is an informal, cross-disciplinary discussion group open to everyone. Sessions typically run 1–3 PM and are hybrid — held both on Zoom and in the CTEI Greenhouse Conference Room 110 on the JHU Homewood campus — with tea and light refreshments served. Participants are encouraged to select articles and lead discussion. Upcoming sessions for 2026–2027 include a meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 (2–3 PM) discussing 'The Post-tenure Apex: Unrewarding, Unproductive, Unhappy. Is Continuing Learning a Remedy for Mid-Career Misery?' (Kanuka & Anuik, 2021).
