CfAE speaking and writing labs

The Centre for Academic English (CfAE) at Imperial College London runs regular 'speaking and writing labs' — free, interactive guided sessions open to postgraduate students, staff and undergraduates to improve academic communication. Sessions cover writing a research paper (abstract, introduction, results, discussion), STEMM writing, speaking skills and presentation skills, delivered online or on the South Kensington Campus (e.g. ASL-315 in the Sherfield Building). The programme runs in weekly 50-minute activity sessions across the academic year. The next confirmed writing-lab session is on 4 November 2026. Registration is in advance via the Imperial events system.
