About Chippenham Folk Festival
Chippenham Folk Festival is an annual celebration of traditional and contemporary folk music, dance, and song, held over the UK's Late May Bank Holiday weekend in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Now in its 54th edition (28–31 May 2027), the festival transforms the entire town into a four-day event space. Across more than a dozen stages — including the Cause Auditorium, St Andrew's Church, Island Park by the River Avon, and town-centre pubs and streets — it features 100+ music acts, dozens of ceilidh and dance bands, and family entertainment.
Highlights include concerts, ceilidhs, dance displays, storytelling, street performances, informal pub sessions, and craft markets, with both free-to-access activities and ticketed events. Camping is available. First held in 1971, it remains one of England's most cherished folk gatherings.
