Cologne Fine Art & Design — discontinued as a standalone fair

Cologne Fine Art & Design (COFA) was Koelnmesse’s long-running art, antiques and design fair in Cologne, Germany. The last independent edition (the 51st) ran 17–21 November 2021 at Koelnmesse (Hall 3.2), in parallel with ART COLOGNE. Public hours for that edition were typically 11:00–19:00 (closing 18:00 on the final day); 17 November was a preview for invited guests.

On 18 February 2022, Koelnmesse announced that Cologne Fine Art & Design would no longer be staged as a separate fair. Managing director Oliver Frese cited years of declining demand in COFA’s traditional collecting fields. Selected segments — design, antiquities, Old Masters and non-European art — were folded into ART COLOGNE as the curated Art + Object sector (from November 2022, Hall 11.1), with specialist dealers invited independently of ART COLOGNE’s usual admissions process.

The former COFA website (colognefineart.de) now redirects to ART COLOGNE. The current artcologne.com programme lists ART COLOGNE (next edition 5–8 November 2026), NEW POSITIONS and ART COLOGNE Palma — no future standalone COFA dates. This record is therefore marked cancelled. Collectors seeking similar content should follow ART COLOGNE / Art + Object rather than a separate Cologne Fine Art & Design edition.
