The event is a one-day conference and exhibition (CONFEX) organised by Manufacturing Indaba. It brings together manufacturers, investors, policymakers, technology providers and business leaders to explore opportunities shaping the Western Cape's industrial future.

Manufacturing is one of the pillars of the Western Cape economy, contributing about 15% of provincial GVA. The province is a leader in advanced manufacturing, agro-processing, marine manufacturing, aerospace, renewable energy components, green technologies and digital manufacturing. The Western Cape accounts for about 70% of South Africa's renewable energy component manufacturing.
