Massachusetts Sheep & Woolcraft Fair (final 2026 edition)

After 50 years, organizers announced that the 2026 Massachusetts Sheep & Woolcraft Fair marked the end of the tradition. The last fair was held Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Cummington Fairgrounds, 97 Fairgrounds Rd, Cummington, MA 01026 (about 20 miles west of Northampton / east of Pittsfield on Route 9; turn south onto Fairgrounds Rd).

The volunteer-run event brought together farmers, fiber artists, and enthusiasts to celebrate regional sheep and wool heritage through educational programs, competitions, commercial exhibits, fleece sales, sheep shows, shearing and working sheepdog demos, and fiber arts (spinning, weaving, dyeing).

Typical hours from the official schedule: Saturday food booth from 7:00 am with commercial exhibits about 9:00 am–5:00 pm; Sunday food booth from 8:00 am with exhibits about 9:00 am–4:00 pm. Parking was $10 per car or $15 for a two-day pass. Cell service is generally unavailable on the fairgrounds.
