Otakon 2027 — Convention of Otaku Generation — will be held August 6–8, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C. 20001.
Founded in 1994, Otakon is an annual summer convention celebrating Asian pop culture (anime, manga, music, movies, video games, and related fandom). The event typically runs Friday through Sunday. Since 2017 it has been held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Otakon is volunteer-run under the nonprofit Otakorp, Inc., with the motto “for fans, by fans.”
The convention program includes guest appearances, concerts, exhibitor halls, an art show, artist alley, dealers room, cosplay (including masquerade), panels and workshops, tabletop and video games, AMV, dance, LARP, makerspace, manga library, and other fan programming. 2027 hotel blocks are open; 2027 registration details are listed as coming soon on the official site.
