About the OVMA True North Veterinary Conference

The 2027 OVMA True North Veterinary Conference — previously known as the OVMA Conference and Trade Show — takes place January 21-23, 2027 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Presented annually by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), it is described by the organizer as Canada's premier veterinary conference and trade show, with a diverse program covering the hottest topics in veterinary medicine and content for every member of the veterinary practice team.

Program

Sessions run across all three days from 8:00 a.m., opening on Thursday, January 21 with the keynote plenary session and breakfast — "Finding Your North Star: Patterns, Purpose, and Performance" by leadership and cultural transformation expert Dr. Ivan Joseph, held in Exhibit Hall F on the 800 Level. The program combines plenary sessions, small animal streams (including clinical pathology), practice-team tracks and hands-on dentistry wet labs (room 801 A/B, 800 Level), with concurrent lectures in the 700-Level meeting rooms.

Trade Show

Applications for the 2027 tradeshow are being accepted; details are published in the official 2027 Exhibitor Prospectus. Exhibitors span animal health pharmaceuticals, nutrition, diagnostics, imaging, surgical supplies, compounding pharmacy and practice services — participants include Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Canada, Royal Canin, Merck Animal Health, Elanco Canada, Ceva Animal Health, Dechra Canada, IDEXX, Antech, CDMV and the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Entry to the Exhibit Hall is included with conference registration (accompanying family members included). Veterinarians and veterinary practice personnel not registered for the conference may buy an on-site Exhibit Hall pass at CAD $100 per person per day for OVMA members and CAD $150 per person per day for non-members; proof of employment at a veterinary hospital or a veterinary licence is required.

Registration

Registration for the 2027 conference opens in November 2026 via the official registration site. OVMA extends member rates to out-of-province attendees who belong to their own provincial or state veterinary medical association. Attendance is limited to licensed veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians/technologists and staff of accredited veterinary practices; service providers may attend only as representatives of an exhibiting company.
