Replayfx Arcade And Gaming Festival

Status

Replay FX: Pittsburgh is cancelled permanently due to Covid-19, according to the official Replay Foundation event page. There is no next edition and no replacement dates.

What it was

Replay FX: Pittsburgh showcased a large public arcade (the organizer described it as the largest in the world), with more than 1,000 classic arcade and pinball machines, tabletop games, and hundreds of console systems from the Magnavox Odyssey through Xbox One. The programme also included live music, cosplay, a large virtual-reality setup, and pinball and casual video-game competitions. The arcade was owned and managed by the Replay Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving gaming-related history and technology.

Pinburgh

The festival featured Pinburgh, described by the organizer as the largest pinball tournament in history, with $100,000 in prize money, 400 pinball machines, and a 1,000-player field. Pinburgh would have marked its 10th anniversary at Replay FX: Pittsburgh in 2021.

Visitor areas (historical)

Past editions included a tabletop lounge, LAN gaming, couch/console multiplayer, and a partnership with Looking for Group (LFG), a Pittsburgh gaming center. Cosplay ran throughout the event, with a Saturday contest. After 9PM the main stage became a live-music venue.
