Herzog & de Meuron at the Royal Academy of Arts

The Royal Academy of Arts, London presented Herzog & de Meuron from 14 July to 15 October 2023 in the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Galleries at Burlington Gardens.

Look behind the scenes of Herzog & de Meuron and immerse yourself in one of the most revered architecture practices in the world. For over 40 years, the Swiss practice has challenged ideas of what architecture can be, reimagining buildings from houses to hospitals, and designing projects that have transformed cities, such as Tate Modern, Laban Dance Centre, Elbphilharmonie and M+.

The exhibition featured 400 objects from the Herzog & de Meuron design process: open archive shelves, furniture, life-sized architectural mock-ups, and augmented reality of a children's hospital in Zurich. It was curated in close collaboration with the architects and organised by the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron.

This was a one-off RA exhibition. As of September 2026 the official exhibition page still documents the 2023 show; no further Herzog & de Meuron exhibition is listed on the Royal Academy programme.
