The Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit (SEFMD) is an annual STEM competition for students in the metropolitan Detroit area, now in its 70th year (2026-2027). The 2027 SEFMD fair is scheduled with setup on Tuesday 16 March 2027 and judging on Wednesday 17 March 2027; the affiliated Michigan Science Fair (MSEF) follows on Saturday 10 April 2027. The fair showcases student research projects across scientific and engineering disciplines and is supported by partners including Lawrence Technological University. It is a flagship event promoting science education in Southeast Michigan.
