About Smart City Expo World Congress

Held in Barcelona since 2011, Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the world’s leading event for cities and urban innovation. Organized by Fira de Barcelona, the 2026 edition (#SCEWC26) runs 3–5 November 2026 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via (Av. Joan Carles I, 64, Halls 2 & 3, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat).

The event brings together city leaders, governments, companies, startups, and organizations to turn urban ambition into solutions, partnerships, and collaboration. The 2026 theme focuses on moving cities towards a better future, with congress tracks covering Enabling Technologies, Energy & Environment, Mobility, Housing, Governance & Economy, Living & Inclusion, Infrastructure & Building, and Blue Economy.

Format

The programme combines a world-class congress, a two-hall expo of market-ready urban solutions, an Innovation Playground for startups and demos, and curated side events. Parallel gatherings such as Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress and HOWS Barcelona | Housing World Summit sit alongside the main show. Urban Innovation Tours (with Build Tours) take attendees to Barcelona projects off the expo floor.
