The SMPTE Media Technology Summit is the annual flagship conference of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), bringing together engineers, technologists and business leaders shaping the future of media technology. The 2026 edition takes place on 16-19 November 2026 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. The programme features peer-reviewed technical papers, keynote presentations, executive panels and the debut of the SMPTE Media Tech Business Forum, alongside the Solutions Hub exhibition. Topics span AI and sustainable media workflows, media infrastructure (SDI/IP), content security, colour and dynamic range, compression, UHD and emerging audiovisual experiences.
