Swedish Textile Machine Expo (Svenska Textilmaskinmässan)

The Swedish Textile Machine Expo (STM) is the Swedish meeting place for sustainable textile production, organised by The Swedish School of Textiles (Textilhögskolan) at the University of Borås. National and international machine manufacturers showcase new technology and share knowledge with textile producers, students and other industry stakeholders.

Context

The fair was first staged in November 2022 as "a new hub for sustainable textile production" and returned for its second edition on 13-14 November 2024. Interest in local, sustainable textile production in Scandinavia is growing: automation, modern machinery and sustainability requirements make it viable to bring all or part of production back home, and the expo exists to showcase that technology.

Status note (checked October 2026)

The organiser's own event pages on hb.se - both the English path /en/the-swedish-school-of-textiles/collaboration/swedish-textile-machine-expo2/ and the Swedish path /textilhogskolan/samverkan/svenska-textilmaskinmassan/ - have been removed and now return HTTP 404, and no third edition has been announced. The venue still hosts a page for the fair, and the organiser's parent event Borås Textile Days is confirmed for 4-5 November 2026 at the same venue. This record therefore keeps the last confirmed edition (13-14 November 2024) and stays verified/published pending a new edition announcement.
