THCA Annual Convention & Trade Show

The THCA Annual Convention & Trade Show is the flagship annual education conference and trade exhibition of the Texas Health Care Association (THCA) — the Austin-based association committed to provider-driven, provider-supported care for Texas' independently owned long-term care communities (skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and rehabilitative care providers). It brings together long-term care operators, nurses, administrators and business members from across Texas for continuing education, networking and a supplier trade show.

• Dates: Tuesday 22 - Friday 25 September 2026 (promoted by THCA as "new event days for 2026")
• Venue: Hyatt Regency Dallas, 300 Reunion Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75207, United States
• Format: four-day in-person convention — education sessions plus trade show

Programme

• Education: continuing-education sessions for long-term care professionals covering leadership, workforce development, clinical care, quality standards, legal & regulatory compliance and finance. The THCA Education Foundation is an approved provider of continuing education and follows the ANCC Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education.
• Trade show: exhibitors are THCA Business Members supplying products and services to long-term care operators (clinical and dietary supplies, pharmacy, therapy, technology, furnishings, staffing and consulting).
• Association programme: THCA business meetings and awards recognition (the THCA Director of Nursing of the Year award is presented at the convention).

Series

Annual event: 65th edition 2015 at the Gaylord Texan, Grapevine, TX; 70th edition 2020 staged as a virtual experience; 75th Diamond Anniversary edition 2025; 76th edition 22-25 September 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.

Market context

Texas has 1,183 nursing facilities and 2,008 assisted living facilities — 3,191 long-term care facilities in total (HHSC, 2024).

No 77th edition dates have been published yet. THCA's published 2027 calendar currently lists the 2027 Leadership Academy, the 2027 Spring/Summer Conference & PAC Golf Tournament (dates and location to be announced) and the 2027 Call for Presentations.
