The Great Train Expo Salt Lake City

Great Train Show (the traveling series formerly promoted as the Great Train Expo), organized by Giant Shows Inc. — Salt Lake City edition.

The organizer describes the Great Train Show as the nation's largest traveling train show, with events each year in dozens of major cities across the country. Each show features hundreds of tables of trains, accessories, scale models and collectible toys for sale, huge operating model-railroad displays, free workshops and seminars, hands-on activities for kids and a riding train, and much more. All shows admit children free.

The most recent Salt Lake City edition was held December 6–7, 2024, 10:00–16:00 on both days, at the Utah State Fairpark, 155 North 1000 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84116.

No Salt Lake City date has been announced for the 2026–2027 season: the organizer's published show schedule (August 2026 through April 2027, roughly 30 cities) does not include Salt Lake City. The Salt Lake City stop has not appeared on the schedule since December 2024. The series itself remains active — Salt Lake City dates for a future season have simply not been published.
