WaterSmart Innovations (WSI) is AWWA's premier conference dedicated exclusively to advancing sustainable, efficient, and resilient water management. The 2026 edition takes place October 21–23, 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Oregon.

About the event

WSI brings together water utility professionals, resource managers, planners, engineers, conservation specialists, public agency representatives, consultants, and policy leaders. The conference explores practical strategies for managing water resources in an era of increasing scarcity, climate uncertainty, infrastructure pressures, and evolving customer expectations, with a focus on implementation-ready solutions for water-use efficiency, demand management, source water protection, and integrated resource planning.

Program highlights

Registration is open. Early-bird rates apply through September 21, 2026: full-conference registration $595 for members / $695 for non-members (regular rate $695 / $795 after the deadline). Student, exhibits-only, and spouse/guest rates are also available.
