Gouverneur Pumpkin Festival

About

The Gouverneur Pumpkin Festival is the autumn festival of the Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fair, held at the Gouverneur Fairgrounds in Gouverneur, New York. The 2026 edition is the 15th annual festival and runs Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, 10:00 to 16:00 daily. It is presented by the Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fair in conjunction with the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce.

What is on

• Craft show (both days, 10:00-16:00) with crafters, games, bounce houses and fair food
• Petting zoo (Saturday, 12:00-16:00)
• Cruise-In classic car show (Sunday, 13:00-15:00)
• Giant pumpkin weight contests in senior and junior divisions - bring pumpkins any time on Saturday before 16:00, or before 10:00 on Sunday; winners announced at the award ceremony on Sunday at 14:00
• The Giant Pumpkin Drop on Sunday at 16:00, tickets $5.00 (pre-festival sales locations announced on the fair's Facebook page)
• Live music both days, free cow train rides for children, children's activities by the Gouverneur Rec Center, and draft horse wagon rides on Sunday
• Bounce houses provided by Silver Line Party Rental

• Giant Pumpkin Drop: first prize $500, second prize $250, third prize $100
• Senior division pumpkin weights: $200 / $100 / $50
• Junior division pumpkin weights: $50 / $25 / $10
