Perth Model Railway Show 2027 — Perth Model Railway Exhibition

The Perth Model Railway Exhibition is organised by the Scottish Model Engineering Trust (SMET) with the Perth Model Railway Group, and has been running for more than 20 years. After 25 years at the Dewars Centre, the show moves to a new venue in Perth from 2027.

Why the venue changed

The organisers moved the exhibition because the car park and grounds at the Dewars Centre and Leisure Pool are proposed for residential development; Perth & Kinross Council could not guarantee exhibitor and visitor parking for the following summer, making the Dewars Centre non-viable as an events venue. The show stays in the city and moves to the UHI Perth campus on Crieff Road.

What to expect

The exhibition brings together high-quality model railway layouts from throughout the UK, a selection of specialist traders, modelling societies and demonstrations, with the aim of educating, entertaining and showcasing the hobby. The 2027 edition is in the early stages of organisation; the layout, trader and society lists are published on the official site as they are confirmed, and advance tickets are announced there.

• The new venue is the UHI Perth campus on Crieff Road, Perth (postcode PH1 2NX).
• SMET's own base at Wester Pickston Railway (College Road, Methven, PH1 3RX) is a separate venue and is not the show site.
